The Games Of The Small States Of Europe is a sport event that happens every 2 years for either 4, 5 or 6 days. At every games there has always been the same 8 nations (Countries) participating. These nations are:
Andorra
Cyprus
Iceland
Liechtenstein
Luxembourg

Monaco
San Marino
All of these nations enter in different sports at the games. Some sports that are played are Tennis, Judo, Basketball, Sailing and Swimming plus many more.
Ever since the games began in 1985. There has been in total 3757 medals awarded. These medals are Bronze (For 3rd place), Silver (For 2nd place) and of course Gold (For 1st place) which are awarded in the final of a sport that is played at the GSSE (Games of Small States Of Europe).
Iceland are currently rank 1st for the most number of gold medal wins after wining a total of 367 making them the most successful nation in the games, however Iceland do not hold the title of most medals in total. This title belongs to Cyprus who have an amazing total of 938 medals beating Iceland’s 2nd place total of 873. Cyprus are currently in 2nd place on the Medal board but are very close to over taking Iceland who have 367 gold medals when Cyprus has 363.
San Marino had the pleasure of hosting the very first games in 1985 and from there the games was held all around Europe in different countries. However the games have been held in the same country twice. Five nations have managed to achieve this and these nations are:
