How it works Training
safety quote: i've never put stuff on the internet so this was cool, student

Safety is an important feature of Radiowaves and we aim to ensure students using the site can do so easily and safely. We follow the Home Office Task Force On Child Protection On The Internet's 'Good Practice Guidance for the Providers of Social Networking and User Interactive Services 2007'.

Radiowaves is registered with the Family Online Safety Institute and we work closely with organisations like Childnet International to provide safety information for students and parents.

All Radiowaves staff are CRB checked and have considerable experience working with young people and schools.

We would welcome your input and comment on Radiowaves. If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything in more detail please contact us.

To help maintain these guidelines, the following restrictions are in place:

  • No personal emails or contact details are used anywhere on the site
  • Only students who are logged in can post comments for other students
  • All content posted by students must be approved by an approved adult before it goes live on the site

To help us with safety we recommend that students:

  • Use nicknames or alias as their usernames and do not reveal their real names
  • Do not post photographs of themselves
  • Do not give out their email or other contact details to anyone on the site
  • Report any comments or content that worries them immediately to Radiowaves
  • Ensure their username and password remains secret at all times.
