Getting started with Radiowaves

An introduction to Radiowaves to get your station up and running. Have a go at scripting and planning, learn how to record and edit. Discover how to publish online and easily manage your Radiowaves station. Learn how to support your student reporter community

Reporter Training Workshop

Make student voice a priority in your school, recruit a team of reporters for your station and empower them to take Radiowaves throughout your school. Your students will be equipped with all the skills needed to interview, report, edit and create online media.

Curriculum Planning Workshop

Whether you want to embed ICT across the curriculum or just use Radiowaves specifically for individual subjects, this is the course for you - we will work with you to identify your key curriculum objectives, map Radiowaves activities to curriculum modules and get inspired with innovative content ideas

Extra Skills

Delivered by experts with experience across the media including BBC and local radio our extra skills days give you and your students the skills and confidence to take your Radiowaves to the next level.

Radio Production & Editing Workshop

An intense radio production day, get to grips with audacity, record your own bank of sound fx, develop scripting techniques and perfect your recording techniques. Take a master-class in audacity, receive editing advice and know how.

Live broadcasting day

Develop the techniques to stream LIVE on your Radiowaves stations. Learn Microphone techniques, how to drive a desk, ideas for speech radio features, studio etiquette, the technicalities, the launch of your station live elements and programme ideas.

News Production and Journalism day

What makes a story news worthy? Is the news objective, how does news differ across different mediums? Learn how to report, research and present the news and look at the values behind the headlines.

For students considering a career in the media, what to aim for, where to go next. This course provides the opportunity to interview someone within the industry, and gives advice on tailoring CVs for a media perspective, work experience and how to get a foot through the door.
