Hi Kirsty - you'll be fine (in fact judging by the date of this, you've already done it, so am sure it was fine!)

I think Ted's story was so sad. It must have been very difficult for him to cope with the deaths of his close friends in the war. I think it is inspirational how he was determined to help in the war, dispite being declared colourblind. Kitty01 is definately correct in saying 'he was a true hero'. It must have taken a lot of strength to carry on after the death of his friends. Inspirational.

What do your new Canadian friends say when you tell them that you are from a tiny little Island called Guernsey thats just 7 miles by 5 miles? Had they heard of the Channel Islands before?

I've just read about your commemoration service and I had tears running down my face - the way you explained what you all did and how you felt was so moving.

Very moving about the wreath laying and the bit about the money in your make-up bag was hilarious! I will definitely come back to see how you get on in Canada. It's the little details that make it interesting.
