    This movie is of my PowerPoint talk about how I communicate. I gave it at college in February to help my teachers know how to help me, and it is my late entry to International AAC Month 2009.
    This movie is our campaign presentation that I gave to Big Challenge in December and the Learning Disability Parliament in February.
    Language Stealers reveals the real barriers to communication for learners with speech and motor impairments as being no access to language and literacy.

    Radiowaves Kate Valentine came to Durham to interview and film me about my campaigns 24 June. I was able to tell Kate the good news that we have just won one campaign!
    We ask the UK Government to ratify the UN Convention without reservations. They are currently trying to opt out of Article 24 on equal education.
    I know lots of people who cannot speak and who do not have any AAC. The main barriers seem to be lack of knowledge and training in the professionals who work with us; the low expectations people still have of anyone with speech and learning disabilities,
    Children who use AAC are often the only communication aid user at their school, and their families, teachers and therapists may know little or nothing about AAC (augmentative & alternative communication).
