As part of Aim Higher a group of 7 Y10 girls took part in a 'Girls in Aerospace' in The Great Hall at The University of Manchester. They were split into groups made up of other Y10 girls from schools around the Greater Manchester area. Next the groups were set a Design Brief to design a build a Hovercraft using the resources and materials provided. The task involved team work, and working to each of their strengths to meet their goal. In the afternoon the groups took part in heats, racing the Hovercrafts to find an overall winner who would challenge the teachers Hovercraft, aptly named 'Chase Me'. Unfortunately for the teachers they were beaten in the final due to some tampering by the course officials. All in all the girls had a great day and gained many new skills and friends throughout the task.
