Keep It Zipped!

On Friday 25th January my school took part in The Big Hush 2008. The Big Hush is to raise money for people who have cancer. The money goes to Macmillan's Trust which then goes to people who have cancer.

Last year 888 schools and groups from across the UK took part and raised over £320,000 for people living with cancer.

Taking part in The Big Hush couldn't be easier – or more fun! Our school has raised £700 so far!

We couldn't speak for 5 hours. During all 5 lessons as we couldn't speak we communicated by writing notes, sign lauguage and mime. We could only speak during registration, moving from class to class and break and lunch times. It was really hard for me and my friends - I thought I wasn't going to be able to not talk for 5 hours but I managed it!

Cancertalk – helping children and young people talk about cancer.
Every school community is affected by cancer in some way. Maybe a teacher, parent, grandparent or a pupil in your school has been diagnosed with the illness.
