Find out more from Katy Nenadorvic and BearWaves Radio
Today we welcomed Katy Nenadorvic into our BVS Assembly to tell us all about Fairtrade Fortnight. Judith Molanza and Chloe Hill took the opportunity to interview Katy for BearWaves.
When we are shopping we can all make a real difference to the lives and livelihoods of our neighbours in the developing world who produce so much of the food and the products we consume.
Fairtrade products are usually ones, which are grown or made in some of the poorest parts of the world. We can buy Fairtrade tea, coffee, chocolate, bananas, sugar, wine, cotton and even footballs.
The Fairtrade Mark is an independent consumer label. Products can only carry the Fairtrade Mark if they meet strict criteria relating to better terms of trade and decent production conditions.
Fairtrade guarantees producer organisations a fair and stable price for their products that covers their costs and enables them to support their families and invest in a better future.
BVS is a Fairtrade School. We want to make a difference!
