Virgin Atlantic Flies on Biodegradeable Fuel
On Sunday 24th of February, 2008, Virgin Atlantic flew from London to Amsterdam on biodegradeable fuel.
The fuel was made out of plants. Virgin have agreed not to say what plants the fuel was made out of for a number of reasons. The biodegradeable fuel was only put in one engine, so the other three were running on normal aircraft fuel so if there was any sort of problem, it there wouldn't be too much of a problem.
Onboard the test flight, were only the pilots and crew members. No passengers were onboard.
Sir Richard Branson, owner of Virgin, said that he wants all aircrafts to fly with biodegradeable fuel as it is much healthier for the planet's environment which I too agree on.
