What is Citizenship?

Citizenship is about having the knowledge, understanding and skills to take an active role in the society. There are many ways to get involved - you could join a local sports team, drama club or music group. You could also support worldwide organistations like Greenpeace or Amnesty International, who seek to change ways that governments and individuals behave by highlighting important issues. Fewer people are voting and joining political parties, yet many people are voicing their opinions and holding protest marches on a broad range of issues, including animals rights, the envioronment and war.

What are the issues that are important to you?
