It's National Pet Month, but is cruelty to animals going unnoticed?
To link in with this months Radiowaves topic of National Pet Month, Voice It is looking at animal cruelty.
This is obviously a subject that is important to anyone that has a pet or cares for animals. Have there been any major cases of animal cruelty in your area? Do you think sentences are tough enough? Should you get life imprisonment for killing an animal?
Then there are animal charities. They often use heartbreaking images of cute animals in distress. Is this just manipulative imaging to try and get us to part with our cash, or are they just doing what any other charity would do?
This is another big topic that links in with our previous subjects, from knowing where you food comes from to charities on your back. Do you care whether the animals you eat are treated well before they’re killed? Do you switch off when an animal charity ad comes on TV?
