This audio is about the city of Kyoto home to over 1.4 million people. Kyoto has a reputation worldwide as Japan's most beautiful city.
In this city there are over 1000 surviving Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines. During WWII Kyoto was the only city to be spared from the allied bombings.
This is the first place we will be visiting when we arrive at Japan.
