End of term, spirits flagging, time for a health and fitness week to get everyone up and moving!
Everyone, including the garrison Physical Training Instructors (PTI's), Garrison Catering Officer and Road Safety experts joined in the fantastic Health and Fitness week at Hornbill School.
What did we do?
The week began with a rousing medal parade to celebrate the achievements of the first Royal Gurkha Rifles after their recent tour in Afghanistan.
This was followed by a treasure hunt, quiz and song building session. The following day we had the KS1 swimming gala and then the KS2 swimming gala.
During the week children learned how to relax using yoga techniques, make healthy snacks using soldiers ration packs and follow the world champion Tae Kwan Do expertise of Raju. The fabulous gyrating hip hop dancing was a great sucess and the style and grace of Nepali dancing was truly beautiful to learn. It's a knockout involved lots of laughter, water and inflatables.
Our final Sports day was amazing with all of the children competing in a huge variety of challenging events, thank goodness the rain did not start until lunchtime! Phew and we still had time to go to the summer ball.
