FINALLY!
After 58+ hours of waiting & travelling, including missing our flight we arrived in Durban, South Africa safely yesterday at 14.30.
Since arriving we have relaxed at Nomad's youth hostel where we were able to meet another World Challenge group, have our first proper cooked meal and a good shower! Most of us also got a good nights sleep which was much needed.
At about 7.30am everyone was up and enjoying breakfast and preparing to leave for the St Lucia Wetlands. A coach came and picked us up at 10 and the journey took about 3 hours however, the majority of us slept for most of it.
We are now at our second accomodation (St Lucia) just relaxing after lunch and preparing for our acclimatisation trek which begins tomorrow (13.07.08), Tonight/Tomorrow morning there may be the chance for us to go and see some hippos and crocodiles which everyone's looking forward to. Some of us whilst walking saw our first monkeys after the monkey's fell out of a tree.
We have also managed to book our safari for the 5th August!
We shall try to write again when we return from our acclimatisation trek on Wednesday 16th, but this is not certain!
Unfortunatly, Mr McGinty has forgotton the USB which connects the camera to the computer, however, we have found a way of uploading the pictures. We can put them onto disc and then upload them. They will be coming soon!
Overall, everyone is very happy and healthy and glad that we have arrived after a long, tough journey.
Write again soon
