The Labour Party is set to propose Votes at 16 in it's manifesto at the next election following a vote at the National Policy Forum.
The amendment to support Votes at 16 won a clear majority of delegates. High profile cabinet member, Ed Miliband MP has supported the Young Labour campaign for some time.
The final vote goes to Labour Party Conference in September. To ensure the Manifesto is complete with Votes at 16 intact, Young Labour is launching a campaign at www.younglabour.org.uk.
After hearing this I decided to gage the publics view outside the Baltic Arts Centre in Newcastle and asked if they thought that the voting age should be lowered to 16.
