A review of the game

What's the point in this game? Really though, getting fit doesn't sound like much fun to me even though I have never tried, I don't need to. So why should I spend around £60 of my money on something that I will have no use in? The answer, the sheer fun of it all! The game comes packaged with a special piece of equipment called the Balance Board which you stand on and it can tell your movement, weight, and many other things and replicate them on the screen, GENIUS!

The game uses your Mii to represent your character and in games where there are other people there will be the Miis that you have created. It is funny to see your mum's Mii cheering you on when you are doing your jogging exercises. The balance board works extremely well and you will not be finding yourself blaming it if you make a mistake. It is an extremely intuitive piece of kit that greatly enhances the gaming experience. The game is split into four sections, balance games, yoga, muscle workouts and aerobic exercises. While you might be thinking that you can just cheat on the exercises, you will be wrong. Because the balance board is so sensitive, it will read and replicate every move you make on the screen. This means that if you are playing the tightrope balance game then if you lose balance, you will fall of the tightrope, no cheating can be done by quickly regain balance. Also, when you are doing the yoga or muscle workouts then the game makes sure you are doing them right my showing you your centre of gravity. It shows you this by marking it with a little red dot in a square. You have to try and keep this dot in the centre of the square to feel the full effects of the exercise, it even gives you a score on how well you did at the end.

The balance games are the most fun in my opinion but my sister likes the yoga, my mum likes the aerobic exercises and my dad likes the muscle workouts. It is great fun to play as a family and on your own. There are is a highscore system so you will be competing against family and friends to get that precious first place.Once, me and my dad were playing it for a whole day trying to get the highscores on the ski slalom, headers and ski-jump. It was great fun. In the end I got most of the highscores, he only bet me in the headers. All the games have different difficulty settings so your Gran can play at Christmas if she wanted! I mainly play the balance games and after a few months, I started to feel the difference.

There are a few downsides to it though. Firstly, the price. You can get it for about £60 in the shops, that is about £30 more than a regular game but this is because of the balance board. You can get over the price tag though because there are other games coming out that utilise the balance board. This won't get you really fit you have still got to eat healthy and things like that, this just acts as a fun booster. All in all though, it is a fantastic game.

I would give it:

9/10
