The project was a great success with The Green Team working in conjunction with a team from the Scottish Wildlife Trust. By the summer, we had successfully constructed a path with decking leading from the main school to the Cottage. The team were then invited to the Hilton in Glasgow to take part in seminars and presentations alongside three other schools from the rest of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Additionally, the team has been working day-to-day to make the school more eco-friendly. This has involved schemes to recycle, reuse and reduce waste. The effect has been to change many habits around the school. Recently, the school's hard work has been rewarded with the attainment of the Eco Schools' silver award.
The Green Team are now focusing on developing the wilderness area, constructing a 'plastic bottle' greenhouse, and attaining Eco Schools' Green Flag.
