The first time S2R has ever reported at Women’s Boxing and today was the day of the Women’s National Finals. Different weights, different size’s but they are all here for one reason to become the national champion. Ring side watching the fights seeing blow after blow, the quick feet of the athletes moving around the ring. It started the first fight of the day Claire Teeling (Royal Navy) vs. Shakira Ley (Waltham Forest) Shakira won and the tension was immense. I interviewed her to get her opinion on women joining the men in the Olympics. She had some great reasons to why women should be aloud to be in the games. I also asked a fan who also had the same idea as Shakira. After this I asked the same questions to one of the coaches of Shakira. He was very enthusiastic and is really hoping that the organizers accept that women can do the same sport as any man. All the fights had great tension and very exciting. Today was great and we got great scoops and got to go ringside. I hope we get to do this next year and be able to cover more boxing across the country. Hopefully see women’s boxing in the Olympics in 2012.its been great I hope you enjoy it.
