Pupils and staff took part in a range of activities, raising over £800. Kieron reports.
    5th December 2006
  • Hillside School held a day to collect money for Children in Need. Karen, Keiron, Daniel and Garry put up posters all over the school and we also put up balloons. The PE department organised a football contest which was won by the Westwood Unit. John Russell organised a fussball competition and that was won by TC and Keiron. There was a donut eating competition won by Charles. We held rounds for a pool competition in the weeks before the day and the final was won by Ross and I was runner up. Jason brought in two trophies, one for the winner and one for the runner up.

One of the care staff, Ross, cycled a 1,000 miles and the staff and boys sponsored him. We also held a raffle and lots of people won prizes. Craig won a hamper of food. There was a presentation at the end of the morning when all the people that won competitions received their trophies. I got a trophy for being runner up in the pool competition. We raised just over £800 pounds to send to Children in Need and everyone was very pleased with all the effort we had put in.
