After a long and tense battle at Wimbledon, Andy Murray, Britains only hope, was knocked out of the competition by American player Andy Roddick.
Monday's game was particularly tense as Stanislas Wawrinka and Murray fought five long sets to make the quarter-finals. This match had people up and down the country on the edge of their seats but Andy just managed to scrape a victory.
On Wednesday Murray played Ferrero and managed to beat him by three sets to nill securing his place in the semi-final where he would go on to play Roddick.
But the streak would not continue as Murray would soon take on seed number six, Andy Roddick. With the first set to Roddick, Murray seemed to pull it back by securing the next set. It then came to tie-break as in the next set both players managed to keep the score level. Roddick then managed to secure the next set point to put Andy Murray under intense pressure. The forth set went to tie-break but once again Roddick seemed to have the edge, putting him through to the final and knocking Andy out of the competition.
We may not have seen Andy in the final but he will continue to improve and hopefully get us the win next year. Come on Murray!
