Elephant poaching in Cameroon

Because of the increase in demand for ivory since mid-January over 200 Elephants have been killed for their tusks. It is said that it has produced:

“Fresh young poachers with state of the art weapons and technology”

Since these horrible events has not only orphaned elephant calves and led them to their own deaths they are also leaving locals in disgust for total disrespect for another life, the Cameroonian military is said to plan an offensive on these poachers and bring them to justice.
The head of the Convention of International Trade in Endangered species warned:

“this most recent incident of poaching elephants is on a massive scale.”
