Wednesday 6th April saw over 100 parents, students and staff come to the opening of this year's Remember Never Forget, Remember Never Again exhibition of memorial pieces commemorating the horror of the Holocaust. The students once again showed how young people can show such empathy and understanding of such awful events. The year 8 students look at the Holocaust as part of the RE study of Judaism and the Year 9s study the subject as part of the history syllabus. The RE students have a lesson with Kay Topping, Haslemere Museum's Education Officer and fellow of the Imperial War Museum's Holocaust programme for teachers, said "Even though this joint project with Woolmer Hill is now in its fouth year, the quality of the students work still amazes me. During the lessons at the school the students had some very thoughtful discussion and the lessons were very uplifting because of this." A holocaust survivor who visited the exhibition said that it was one of the best exhibitions on the Holocaust that she had seen and it was really good that the children were learning about it and obviously really taking it to heart.
